Nousaku's traditional-craft products go on sale at JR East's online-assisted store using Actcast AI cameras

A pilot programme using AI cameras on Actcast, our edge AI platform holding the No.1 domestic market share (*), has been running since 30 June 2022 at “JRE MALL Meet”, an online-assisted store inside “Ekitabi Market” at Omiya Station, operated by East Japan Railway Company.

At this “JRE MALL Meet” store, products from Nousaku Corporation, a maker of traditional crafts, went on sale from 1 August 2022. The press release covering this also featured our “Actcast” platform.

What is “JRE MALL Meet”?

“JRE MALL Meet” is a store where visitors can handle products carried on JR East’s e-commerce site “JRE MALL” while receiving service online. Bridging a real transit hub — the station — with an online tool, it introduces products under the concept of connecting “person to person,” “person to product,” and “person to region.”

At the store, AI cameras on Actcast, our edge AI platform holding the No.1 domestic market share, can be used to gauge foot traffic and customer attributes before entering the display, analyse how much attention monitors and products receive, and notify staff when a customer arrives.
